Mt Cook with Jamie & Karl

9.6.14  POST CATEGORY  :
Before Marc's brother Karl and his partner Jamie head back to Canada they thought they'd come and see a bit of the South Island. Jamie's Mum even flew in from Canada to join them. So day two after they arrived we headed off to Mt Cook with the car packed to the hilt!! A compulsory stop at the Fairlie Bakehouse was on the agenda of course, but about 20mins in to the drive Genevieve pipes up about the key for the hut - like do we have the key? We didn't!! So Genevieve hopped in the other car with Karl, Jamie and Doreen and they really got to see every little bit of Fairlie while we went back to Timaru... Luckily that was the only thing we forgot!!
A 'real' kiwi hut, where what counts is the view and the sounds, which included avalanches - very cool!

All good huts need sets of antlers and 1970's wilderness paintings
