Baking in the Park

17.8.17  POST CATEGORY  :  Together | Lifestyle | Family | Celebration
It's not everyday you get to photograph three generations icing a cake together... in a park! Sometimes life throws you a curve ball and the best thing you can do is throw it back! 'Carpe Diem', seize the day and have some fun! That's what these girls certainly did sporting war paint icing on their faces and just a little bit of 'fairy dust' icing sugar falling from the skies. Such fun. Click to view full blog post

Sophia Turns Three

25.6.17  POST CATEGORY  :  Lifestyle | Children | Family | Celebration

All children are precious, but some come with an extra dose of preciousness, just because they actually made it into this world. Sophia is one of these precious babies. She also has a Mum who really should be a stylist because she rocks out the most intricate themed birthday parties for her children, something she loves to do. This year the Oamaru Gardens were the backdrop and it turned on the sunshine despite the miserable weather forecast. Lots of running around, tag, leaves throwing, tree climbing and of course a little bit of cake. Happy Birthday Sophia!

30 Things

3.5.17  POST CATEGORY  :  Together | Lifestyle | Celebration | Portrait

Lauren is turning 30 this year, and as part of the milestone birthday celebrations she has set herself the goal of doing thirty different things by the time D-day rolls around. There's all kinds of things on the list from travelling to Italy, going to South Africa, doing a hot air balloon ride, hosting a dinner party etc etc. One of the items on the list was 'participate in a photo-shoot' which is exactly what happened in the autumn leaves on Saturday. Lauren chose to invite her cousins and sister 'n' laws too (which meant two gorgeous babies as well)

Lauren spent quite a few hours in the evenings leading up to the shoot making some 'pinterest' inspired props (that didn't fail!!) and gathering all the other heirloom bits and pieces she knew she wanted to include in the shoot. Potentially there was even her Mother's crystal wine glasses that she didn't know Lauren had...

The girls all had a lot of laughs which when you're wearing 'Lion King' t-shirts as 'grown ups', I think it just might be impossible to have anything but fun!

Hang your artwork

9.11.16  POST CATEGORY  :  Products | Lifestyle | Children | Family | Graphic Design | Portrait | Architecture & Interiors
Getting your artwork up on the wall can feel a bit like a Herculean task. It can  be over whelming just trying to work out where to put things and then there's the issue of getting things at the right height without leaving twenty million holes in your walls! There are some tips and tricks though for making it easier for you. I also have an online guide that has even more tips and tricks...

Tips and Tricks:

1/ Group your artwork first in to cohesive bunches. Mix it up with illustrations, painting, design pieces and photography. Different sizes, different frames. Just makes sure that the images work with each other through their general tones or subject theme. Bright or muted colours, they just need to be similar.

6/Once you've done this you can rip of the paper and hang up all your artwork. Perfect!!

Here's the link to the booklet on hanging images that has some other ideas too... Displaying Your Artwork
